PARIS – An infamous bandit who escaped from a French prison more than three months ago with the help of a helicopter and saws with vibrating saw was put back in detention Wednesday after being stopped by the police during a raid at dawn.
Redoine Faid, 46, was captured in an apartment in his hometown of Creil, north of Paris, said a police officer. Six other people were arrested, including his brother and two nephews, said the police, adding that police seized weapons without firing.
