LONDON – The British government stepped up Thursday accusations against Russian military intelligence, saying the unit had led a series of high-profile online hacks, including the leaked emails in 2016 of the Democratic National Committee and the publication US anti-doping test results and other athletes.

The British Foreign Ministry said the Russian military intelligence unit, the GRU, was guilty of "indiscriminate and blind" cyberattacks over the last three years, targeting various political and media institutions.
