Conor McGregor who? On Wednesday, everyone was focused on Conor McGregor Jr., the son of 18-month-old Irish boxing star. The toddler went on stage to join his fighter father while McGregor gave an interview in Las Vegas before Saturday's fight against UFC 229 against Russian mixed martial artist Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor was doing an open workout – watched by the fans – and shared some very lively comments. But it was his young son who stole the show, wandering adorably on the stage and convincing everyone who watches him that he already bears his father's signature.
"It's great to be able to do what I love to do in front of my fans," McGregor said at one point. (He had already been stripped of his lightweight titles and charged with assault after attacking a busload of UFC fighters in the spring.) The fight on Saturday night will mark his first return to the ring since the 2016 Floyd clash Mayweather.
McGregor might have been wise to apply earmuffs to his child for the rest of his speech. "Saturday night, you'll do a show, trust me. I'm going to get rid of his head, "he told the crowd, adding a few words of choice for the recording.
