"My eldest said the other day, she pointed to the moon, she was like: 'It's where you work, right?'" Gosling told Jimmy Kimmel.

Ryan Gosling could play real astronaut Neil Armstrong in First manbut his daughters now believe he is an astronaut in real life because of his role.

Visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live! On Wednesday, the host asked if his daughters had seen him in the spatial suit of his character. "They did it, they came to bed," he said. "They came that day when I was shooting a launching scene, so I was in the spacesuit and pretending to throw."

"I think they think I'm an astronaut now," he said. "My eldest said the other day, she pointed to the moon, she was like:" It's where you work, right? "

After laughing, Kimmel says, "The answer is," Absolutely, yes. Of course, "is not it?" Gosling replied, "I do not know."

"For me, it's yes," continued Kimmel. "Yes, always lie to your children."

Earlier in the interview, the presenter asked if his role in the film pushed him to "give up his Canadian citizenship and become an American". First man tells the life of Armstrong and the famous space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the moon.

"It's hard not to feel patriotic when you see this movie," he said. "I think it's true."
