Ben Affleck expresses himself for the first time since his recent move to rehab.

In a message Sent on Instagram on Thursday, the 46-year-old Justice League actor confirmed that he had completed "a forty-day stay in a treatment for alcohol addiction." He revealed that his trip was over and that he would continue ambulatory care.

"Fighting all addictions is a tough struggle that lasts a lifetime," he wrote. "Because of that, we're never really in treatment or out of treatment – it's a full-time commitment."

Affleck thanked his family for staying with him and said that they were his motivation to continue to "fight".

"The support I received from my family, my colleagues and my fans means more than I can say. This gave me the strength and support needed to talk about my illness with others, "said Affleck.

He added that the outpouring of sympathy from those facing similar battles had helped the actor realize: "I'm not alone."

"So many people have turned to social media and talked about their own path of addiction," he wrote. "To these people, I want to thank you, your strength is inspiring and supports me in ways that I did not think possible."

One day, said Affleck, he hopes to be an example "for others in trouble".

People and Entertainment Tonight magazine reported for the first time that actress Jennifer Garner, Mr. Affleck's ex-wife, had driven him to a rehab center at the end of August. .

The father of three has already had trouble with alcohol.

Affleck went into rehab in 2001 for alcohol, a few months after the start of his film "Pearl Harbor".

In March 2017, he stated on his Facebook page that he had "finished his treatment for alcohol addiction", explaining that it was "something that I've been dealing with in the past and that I will continue to confront ".

"I want to live fully and be the best father I can be," wrote Affleck before thanking Garner. "I am fortunate to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-mother, Jen, who supported me and who has been busy of our children, as I have already done for the work that I have undertaken.It was the first of many steps are taken for a positive recovery ".

Affleck and Garner announced their intention to divorce in 2015 after 10 years of marriage. They have three children together: Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6.

Just days ago, Garner filed documents to have their divorce case sent to a private judge to speed up the process, according to court documents obtained by US Weekly. E! The news confirms that a judge approved his claim Monday.
