The Good Place sets the bar too high for television. Period. Even if one episode is weaker than the rest, it remains stronger than any comedy on TV. And of course, The Good Place Season 3 Episode 3 is no exception.
The Good Place is shaming other sitcoms with its innovative and fun approach to the widely debated concept of the afterlife. It manages to make you let go and relax and think too much at the same time.

Although "The Brainy Bunch" was not the best of the series, it was still a big TV episode in general. The series has once again managed to prove what we have always known: The Good Place, it's a genius.
The appearance of Trevor on Earth has put almost everything in jeopardy. He was annoying in the fake Good Place and he is even more annoying now. He will stop at nothing to dissolve the group and, for a moment, he seemed to be working.
But despite Trevor's interference in his plan, Michael thinks the connection between Chidi and Eleanor will ensure everything is set up.
When I did this experience in my neighborhood, whenever Eleanor asked Chidi to help her, her bond became unbreakable and the whole group had improved.
Michael
Michael's determination to help his friends has become one of the drivers of the new season.
Michael has visibly gained public confidence in the series, but it still seems that we are missing something. Although he cares about his friends and their fate, it seems that there is still much to explore with Michael's motivations.
There is no doubt that helping his friends and ensuring their happiness is his main priority, but it would be interesting to dig deeper into Michael's story this season and see what his thinking consists of. As selfless as Michael is, he must have some fear for himself and his own destiny.
Now that he and Janet have fled the judge and escaped to Earth, what's next for them beyond the group? It would be nice if they could spend the rest of their lives with the Cockroach team, but the loss of memory aspect makes it a bit difficult to see this as a possibility.
But then again, it's The Good Place, and as we know, nothing can ever be ruled out.

On another note, the connection between Chidi and Eleanor is as strong as in the rest of the reboots. Eleanor obviously has a soft spot for Chidi, but it's hard to know if what she feels for him is really romantic.
Trevor soon sneaks up to convince Chidi that his friendship with Eleanor and the rest of the group could skew the results of his study.
Chidi: Trevors is right. I could skew the study by fraternizing with the subjects. We can be colleagues. The associates push him. Even having this conversation, you become my confidant! I can not have that.
Eleanor: Definitely. Kinda thought that before everyone showed up, you and I were like, become real friends.
Chidi: Oh no! You are right! What did I do ?!
Trevor knew that separating Chidi and Eleanor could easily make everything fall apart. Chidi and Eleanor's determination to support each other was the reason Michael had to restart everything all the time.

When Eleanor does not show up in class, Trevor convinces the group that she may never come back.
Just like the rest of the restarts, Chidi does not give up Eleanor as easily. One would think that watching Eleanor and Chidi in the same move after three seasons would be tiring, but it has the opposite effect.
The Good Place has managed to create a relationship composed of two characters who are always in a universe or chronology. Is not it the dream of all shippers?
All my life has been an indecisive torture chamber and I am finally on the path to understanding why. And the only reason this happens is because you came into my office and you said you wanted to be a better person.
Chidi
Speaking of ships, there seems to be another one sailing.
Jason and Tahani had a rather complicated relationship during the rest of the restarts. They were fake soulmates and even real lovers at one time. In the end, it did not work between them and it seemed like the right call. Not to mention that their relationship caused Janet a problem because of her own feelings for Jason.
With Janet still in love but Jason ignoring her feelings for her, it will certainly be interesting to see how it all goes.
The comic timing in the episode was flawless and very well done. Each character is hilarious in his own way and they all experienced unique moments throughout the episode.
Eleanor: Do you think that taking a spider in an MRI machine will give you super powers?
Jason: Hey, it could work! He has already bitten me several times and has given me the power to inflate my hand.
In one way or another, even Trevor managed to make me laugh once or twice.
Up to now, Season 3 of The Good Place is off to a good start.
It is impossible to predict what will happen next, as the series has opened an unlimited number of possibilities in a few episodes.
The Good Place is the kind of show that prevents you from guessing and lets you hang on to the best and the worst possible moments. It's time to close the hatches because this season will be a whirlwind.
