NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) – Melania Trump visits a national park in Kenya to highlight animal conservation efforts.

The first American lady arrived Friday at Nairobi National Park to learn about the measures taken by the East African country to conserve elephants and rhinos. She will also go on a fast safari.

Ms. Trump plans to visit children in an orphanage and attend a children's show later Friday at the Nairobi National Theater.

She makes her first visit to Africa and her first long international solo trip as first lady. Ms. Trump opened the trip Tuesday in Ghana and traveled to Malawi on Thursday.

Egypt is the final leg of the continent's four-nation tour highlighting well-being, education, tourism and child conservation.
