The title defense of the Houston Astros began Friday with a dazzling victory, as they hit four home runs in a 7-2 win over the Cleveland Indians in the first game of the league's division series US.

Houston took the advantage in the fourth inning of Alex Bregman 's first leg, Corey Kluber. The Astros would score another point on the fourth goal before George Springer and Jose Altuve added solo circuits to the fifth.

Kluber lost his game, giving up six hits in two goals and two batters in four and a half innings. This is a worrying trend for Kluber, who has conceded 17 points in 15 innings in his last four starts in the playoffs, dating back to the seventh game of the 2016 World Series.

Justin Verlander, starting from the Astros, held Cleveland without conceding a goal in the sixth inning, but had some trouble with a 4-0 lead and was pulled out with a draw and a tied tie. Cleveland had two points, but that's all they could do in the afternoon.

We had a glimpse of how Terry Francona will handle the case in this series. Cody Allen had to qualify 4-2 to start in the seventh inning, but he gave in to Martín Maldonado. Allen surrendered to Trevor Bauer with a rider later in the race, indicating that Francona was ready to use the starter in high leverage situations outside the enclosure.
