Special advocate Robert Mueller has decided to seize the condo of former Trump campaign president, Paul Manafort, located in the Trump Tower in New York.
According to a file filed Friday, the seizure should take place on October 20 or later.
Prosecutors said the federal government would "take complete and exclusive custody and control" as part of a wider confiscation, and Manafort signed the document.
This decision follows a plea agreement passed last month by Manafort. Carrie Johnson and Ryan Lucas, of NPR, have pleaded guilty to two counts rather than being tried on charges related to his work as a lobbyist in Ukraine and the alleged falsification of witnesses. He agreed to cooperate "in all cases" deemed relevant by prosecutors.
In another case, in August, Manafort was convicted of eight of the 18 counts of financial crimes by a federal jury in Virginia. He has not yet been sentenced in both cases.
The special council had accused Manafort of having laundered millions of dollars and avoided levying taxes on income earned from lobbying pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine.
