The characters of the original series, "Next Generation", "Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager" will team up.
2019 will bring a surprise Star Trek milestone when the crews of the first four hiking incarnations – the original series, The next generation, New deep space and Traveler – are forced to compete in the next series of comics, Star Trek: the Q conflict.
As the title indicates, the six-issue series is entirely attributable to the omnipotent entity that emerged during the multiple incarnations of the television franchise in the 1980s. But do not think the series will only focus on the different crews of Starfleet in conflict; Writer Scott Tipton – who will co-compose the series with his brother David and works by David Messina – says in a statement: "All the most legendary officers of Starfleet are meeting for the first time against some of the greatest threats ever faces. It's different from everything you've seen before!
The series was one of the two most important announcements by publisher IDW Publishing on Friday, the two preceding the Saturday afternoon debate organized by the publisher, "IDW Publishing: The Big Scoop". The second announcement marks the 20th anniversary of the 2019 publisher, publishing program called 20/20, which takes up some of the properties of pop culture that IDW publishes and imagines as taking place for 20 years in the past or the future of their respective chronologies.
The titles announced for the program are Ghostbusters: IDW 20/20, featuring the Ghostbusters of the future; Jem and the holograms: IDW 20/20in which the group meets for a meeting in two decades; My little pony: IDW 20/20, place 20 years in the past of mythology; Star Trek: IDW 20/20, put 20 years before Star Trek: the new generation; and Teenage Ninja Turtles: IDW 20/20, in which the Turtles of tomorrow must save the world once more.
Both 20/20 and Star Trek: the Q conflict will be launched in January 2019.
