The organization that supervised the foster care of a child killed by a dog offered his condolences to the child's family.
Seven year old Khloe Williams died after the attack of a dog Friday afternoon in Clearwater, at the home of her foster father's parents. The Métis family dog bit the child, according to the Clearwater Police Department. Paramedics rushed to the scene to nurse the baby, but later died at the Mease Countryside Hospital.
According to Eckerd Connects, a private company that contracted Pinellas and Pasco counties to provide foster care services, the child was placed in a foster home licensed by A Door of Hope on May 15.

"Everyone at Eckerd Connects is heartbroken," said Chris Card, head of community care at Eckerd, in a statement on Saturday. "Our thoughts and prayers are for all who loved this precious child."
The dog was stopped by Pinellas County Animal Control, said Doug Brightwell, Pinellas County Animal Services Director. He stands on about fourteen days against rabies. If he does not suffer from rabies, the family may decide to keep the dog or euthanize it, Brightwell said. Animal Control has not yet contacted Williams' host family about the dog.
"This is the first time we live in this country as a result of an animal attack for several years," Brightwell said.
The Florida Department of Children and Families said in a statement on Saturday that Williams' foster family had no history of "abuse or neglect".
The police and DCF are still investigating the death of the child. Eckerd Connects said he was cooperating with the investigation.
"She was not even big enough to walk or crawl or anything," said the child's biological mother, Shavon Grossman, at Fox 13 during an interview Friday. "I do not understand how she was even with a dog that could do that."
Grossman could not be reached for comment on Saturday.
