A new rumor suggests that Marvel Avengers 4 will take place at least five years after the shocking events of Avengers: Infinity War.
The 19th edition of the Marvel Film Universe was marked by Thanh's performance of Josh Brolin's plan to eliminate half of life in the universe by collecting the Infinity Stones. But instead of being caught up in the emotional moments that followed this appalling digital break-in, fans could be introduced next year to an MCU that has had time to adapt to the radical and heart-rending change in the status quo .

When Avengers: Infinity War hit the theaters, there was a rumor that Avengers 4 Tony Stark & Co. partner with Hank Pym to develop time travel technology. After Ant and the wasp and the loss of Pym during the fall of Thanos, it seemed that the five-year gap was only hearsay, but the possibility of a jump in time has surfaced.
The five-year jump may be difficult to reconcile with that of Jon Watts. Spider-Man: far from home taking place just minutes from the events of Avengers 4but time travel can cover a multitude of problems.
Time travel is a popular theory to explain how the surviving Avengers will stop Thanos while bringing fallen heroes back to life. The photos taken show Robert Downey Jr. looking like an old version of Tony Stark and wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform, suggesting that Iron Man and the survivors join a reformed version of S.H.I.E.L.D. after Thanos has wiped out half of the universe.

Dr. Strange has already mentioned the idea of several calendars and a future in which the Avengers "win", so we just have to wait to see how that materializes. A five-year jump in time also corresponds to the reports Avengers 4 has cast an old version of Cassie Lang. Five years is enough to get Hawkeye out of retirement, let Bruce Banner solve his problems with Hulk and give Tony Stark time to return from Titan.
