There is no doubt that Tesla is building quite safe cars – the five stars awarded to the Model 3 in all areas show it well. But even if these are statistics that the federal government generally does not publish, model 3 would be relatively safe.
In a blog post on its website, Tesla announced that the 3-seater model, long-range model, has the lowest "probability of injury" of any vehicle. Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) clearly show that Model 3 occupants are less likely to be injured in many types of collisions (frontal, side and rollover) than any other vehicle.
For the other two Tesla vehicles, the Model S and the Model X, the news is almost as good. According to Tesla's chart, his larger vehicles are right next to model 3 on the injury probability chart. Tesla's image does not mention any of the other automakers' finalists, although some vehicles appear to be quite close.
This test only applies to the long range 3 model with a single rear engine, but Tesla expects that other model 3 variants will behave just as well in the NHTSA tests.

However, some things are not clear. The probability of injury is not a statistic often mentioned, and it is not clear if NHTSA provides these figures to all automakers. It is also difficult to know how this statistic is compiled. Representatives of Tesla and NHTSA did not immediately return requests for additional information.
The impact resistance of the Tesla Model 3 should not come as a surprise. Earlier this year, NHTSA awarded Model 3 five crash stars, including in each subcategory. This is not unusual, but it puts Model 3 in a fairly solid business, with the same ratings as consumer favorites like the Honda Civic and Subaru Impreza. The Insurance Institute for Road Safety has not yet fully evaluated Model 3, but it is highly likely that it will also perform well in these crash tests.
