A lotto ticket of a million dollars claimed a few weeks before the expiry

A Connecticut man cashed his $ 1 million winning lottery ticket just a few weeks before it expired.

Charles Dudley of Redding, Connecticut, was emptying his wallet and stumbled across a note he had bought on May 2 this year, accompanied by old receipts.

"I was arrested for an ice cream at [Georgetown] Shell station that day. While I was there, I had a Pick Pick Power Pick, I put it in my wallet, and then forgot to do it, "Dudley told CT Lottery officials.

The winning numbers on Powerball fired on May 2 were 5 – 14 – 31 – 40 – 50 and Powerball 6, and the Dudley ticket was the first five numbers drawn.

The CT Lottery issued a statement in which it urged players to check on their unused tickets the winning numbers of the unclaimed lot.

Dudley's found his price of one million dollars and claimed it last week, with only 23 days to spare.

"I checked the winning numbers on the Lottery website and I could not believe it – I checked it again and again – the numbers were the same. It did not seem to be real until I checked the place of sale of the ticket that's where I bought my ticket, "Dudley said.
