Nobel Peace Prize winner Murad urges world to fight genocide

A co-winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize is calling for the world to do more to fight genocide and sexual violence.

Iraqi Nadia Murad says in her first news conference since she agrees that she feels obliged to use her voice.

The 25-year-old Murad was among thousands of young women who were kidnapped and enslaved in 2014 by the group that calls itself the Islamic State. She says she is honored to be a Nobel recipient, Yazidis forced from their homes.

Murad spoke Monday at the National Press Club. She was awarded the peace price Friday along with Dr. Denis Mukwege of Congo.
