In an emotional essay published Tuesday at Bon Appetit, Ali, 29, says doctors have determined that his diagnosis was incurable and final.

Despite his fear, Ali claims to have accepted his final diagnosis: "A strange feeling of relief has settled in me, knowing that I can finally live for myself, even if it is only for a few months more valuable. "
