An Indiana bride-to-be who never got the chance to walk the aisle when her fiance was mowed down by a drunk driver.
Nearly a year after volunteer firefighter Kendall Murphy was fatally struck by a victim of an unrealized crash, the fiancee left behind, Jessica Padgett, posed for the somber shots on Sept. 29, which was supposed to be their wedding day, according to Fox 59.
The photos, which show a teary Padgett donning her gown, having her makeup applied, and posing with family and friends, having gone viral.
Mandy Knepp at the request of Murphy 's mother – show Padgett clutching a folded American flag, standing beside Murphy' s firefighter helmet and jacket and kneeling at his grave.
In one snap, a faint image of Murphy appears next to his bride-to-be.
Padgett 's community in Daviess County, Indiana also presented with a stack of hundreds of supportive letters, according to Fox 59.
Murphy, 27, was on the scene of a crash on a November 2017 night when he was struck and killed by another motorist – also a volunteer firefighter, Fox 59 reported.
His memory was honored at the National Fallen Memorial Firefighters on Sunday in Washington, DC, the channel reported.
