Two people were killed and two wounded when several shots were fired at a mall in Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday night, authorities said.
"It does not seem to be a random act of violence," said Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno on Tuesday. He gave no other information.
None of the casualties were identified and the state of the wounded was not immediately available.
The NBC affiliate, WBBH, quoted a woman at the scene who reportedly celebrating her birthday at the Society 's restaurant at Bell Tower Shops, when someone shot her in the chest while she' d done it. she paid her bill. She told the station that the shooter then shot his son while he was trying to escape.
Nestor Montoya, a reporter from the station, posted a photo on Twitter showing many emergency vehicles gathered in the parking lot of the complex, explaining that several shots were heard.
A witness told News-Press that he had heard at least 10 shots and that he and other clients were locked up in a restaurant on the premises.
