People today steal everything from peacocks to hamsters, but an incident on Tuesday reminded us that squirrels still have a long way to go before accepting them as emotional support animals.

A border flight between Orlando and Cleveland was delayed for a few hours when the police abducted a woman who had brought a squirrel aboard.

According to the ABC Affiliate ABC, WFTV, the woman had indicated in her booking that she would bring an animal with emotional support on board, but she did not specify what type of 39; animal.

Because rodents of all kinds are banned from Frontier flights, authorities have asked the woman to disembark. When she refused, the police were called and had to get everyone out of the plane. Finally, the woman agreed to leave and her departure was welcomed by the other passengers.

In a statement to ABC, Frontier said, "Rodents, including squirrels, are not allowed on Frontier flights."

The craze for assistance animals is such that Frontier's policy changes as of November 1st. After this date, the assistance animals will have to meet a strict list of requirements and will be limited to dogs and cats.

So long, emotional support squirrel. May you someday realize the dream of piling up on a flight with a cheap airline to Cleveland.
