VA clinics offering flu shots to veterans

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KETK) – Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, including VA Outpatient Clinics in Monroe, Louisiana; Texarkana, Arkansas; and Longview, Texas will offer flu vaccines to registered veterans at scheduled clinics and special influenza vaccination clinics.

The flu vaccine is free and veterans must bring their VA ID card.

The shots are available on:

  • Overton Brooks VCT (Shreveport) Infirm Appointment Clinic (without appointment); every wednesday from October 3rd to November 14th, from 1 pm to 1 pm Check in at reception 1South4 at the main entrance of the south wing.
  • CBOC Longview Flu Treatment Clinic (without appointment); every wednesday – October 3rd to December 12th, from 1 pm to 1 pm
  • The Monroe CBOC Walk-in Vaccine Clinic (no appointment, except November 21st); every wednesday from October 3rd to December 19th, from 1 pm to 1 pm
  • The CBOC Texarkana walk-in clinic (without appointment); every wednesday from October 3rd to December 19th, from 1 pm to 1 pm
  • Vaccination clinic against seizure (main circle of the main facility); October 6th or 13th, from 8 am to noon.

Veterans on the main Shreveport campus are also invited to attend the primary care clinic assigned to them and receive the flu shot.

Veterans of community ambulatory primary care clinics can visit all primary care clinics on the main campus and receive an influenza vaccine.

Registered veterans can also contact the local participating Walgreens Pharmacy for free flu shots with the VAFlu Group Plan and their VA ID.

All dates exclude holidays.
