A student arrested for uttering threats against herself

A student was arrested for reporting anti-LGBT threats from the police that she allegedly uttered against herself.

Anna Ayers, an academic from the University of Ohio, has been charged with "false alerts," Campus Reform said.

Ayers, a member of the school's student council, told the Ohio State Police that she had received several threatening messages, including a death threat, because she was "part of the LGBT community" , according to the National Review.

But during their investigation, agents discovered that Ayers had "placed the messages herself" before reporting the threats, reported the Athens Post in Ohio.

Ayers told her fellow students that she had received threats both at her campus office and at her residence, according to the New Political student newspaper.
