Districts affected to date include Ganjam, Khurdha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore of Odisha.

Titli caused heavy to very heavy rains in Ganjam, Gajapati and Puri.

Damage to the thatch and asbestos house, lampposts, blockage of roads by falling trees have been reported in Ganjam.

The ministry said that among the preparedness measures, 30 district emergency operation centers have been activated to monitor and respond effectively to disasters.

Up to three lakh people were evacuated from their homes in Odisha to other parts of the country; 1,112 relief camps were opened for evacuees in shelters; and 105 pregnant women in Ganjam and 18 in Jagatsinghpur were transferred to hospitals.

"The situation is closely monitored at different levels," the ministry statement added.
