ROME (Reuters) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has again targeted European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker on Friday, saying he should stop insulting him. Italy due to mounting tensions on the government budget that is adding to the deficit.

Earlier, Juncker said Rome did not keep its word on budget deficit commitments and also called on Italian leaders to stop describing European commissioners as "cold, bunkerized monsters".

Salvini responded a few hours later: "Think about your tax haven in Luxembourg and stop insulting the Italians and their legitimate government," he said in a statement.
