Hillary Clinton, Dems Against GOP Political Aikido: Advertising "Unhinged Mob" uses calls to incivility

The recent calls for incivility launched by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may come back to haunt the Democratic Party mid-term if a new Republican announcement echoes with voters.

The GOP opted this week for a kind of political aikido with the publication of "The Left: An Uncontrollable Mob", an advertisement that seeks to use the rhetoric of Democrats against them. The spot features a handful of political leaders using a strident message juxtaposed with violent and emotional outbursts of political activists.

"When they go down, we kick them," said former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. following the clip of a pro-life protester hit in the face by a abortion activist.

"You can not be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you represent," said Clinton, a candidate for the 2016 Democratic Elections, before turning to left-wing protesters knocking on the doors of the US Supreme Court.

Republicans have criticized their political counterparts in recent weeks for rhetoric that they say is irresponsible and likely to incite unstable or radical citizens to commit acts of violence.

Clinton told CNN's Christiane Amanpour that reasoned dialogue can resume once the Democrats take power.

"I think if we have the chance to get back the House and Senate, civility can start again," she said on Tuesday.

"The Left: An Uncontrollable Crowd" recorded more than 120,000 views on YouTube in less than 24 hours.
