Jaipur: A total of 50 people have been tested positive for the Zika virus in Jaipur, making it the largest epidemic of this deadly disease in India to date.
This development comes a few days after the PMO asked the Ministry of Health for a full report on the Zika virus outbreak after 29 people were tested positive in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
According to one Hindustan Times report, 11 pregnant women are also infected with the virus. Officials ensure that the infection does not spread further by controlling mosquito breeding.
At least 276 teams were deployed in rooms affected by the Zika virus in Shastri Nagar, Jaipur.

The teams have already investigated 11,313 houses, of which 2,282 are positive for mosquito breeding. Apart from this, about 39,246 containers were checked, of which 3,567 were positive for the larvae.
As a precaution, 133 blood and urine samples, including 58 pregnant women and 75 fever patients, were collected and sent to Sawai Man Singh Medical College (SMS) for further investigation.
Fog has also been made in the affected area to prevent the spread of the virus.
At the same time, the Minister of the Union of Health and Family, JP Nadda, assured that everything was under control and that there was no need to panic.
The Zika virus disease is caused by a virus transmitted mainly by Aedes mosquitoes, which bite during the day.
The symptoms are usually mild and include fever, rash, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain, malaise or headache. Symptoms usually last from two to seven days.
