Anwar won the Port Dickson by-election by a landslide last night, confirming PKR's decision to controversially force the holding of a poll to allow him to contest.
He obtained a majority of 23,635 votes, easily eclipsing the 17,710 majority that Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah won in the 14th general election and capturing 71% of the votes cast.
The feat of Anwar is all the more impressive as it records a larger margin despite a participation rate significantly lower at 58.3% yesterday, against 83.6% on May 9th.
