Research teams in Charlotte County, southern Virginia, found the body of a woman who was swept away Thursday night in a sudden flood caused by rain, one of the remains of Hurricane Michael , announced the authorities.
Ruby S. Allen, 62, of Eureka, Va., Was getting into a car with her son and grandson around 11:20 pm, when a 911 caller reported seeing the submerged vehicle by a flooded creek, said Daniel Witt, Charlotte County Administrator.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene and found the woman's grandson in the water hanging on a guardrail, Witt said. MPs and passers-by rescued the teenager, but his father and grandmother had been swept away.

The father's body, Ronnie Allen Jr., 36, of Eureka was found later.
Witt said that the body of the grandmother was found around 11:30 Saturday, one kilometer from the place where the car had left the road.
The recovery of the woman's body brings to six the number of victims of the storm in Virginia. Three other people died in floodwaters and a firefighter was hit and killed by a truck trailer while he and others were responding to an accident on the I-295 freeway.
Michael caused widespread power cuts, felled trees and power lines, and damaged buildings in a broad band in south and central Virginia Thursday night and Friday morning.
