1. The consequences of Hurricane Michael:
The Category 4 storm caused violent winds and rains in six states, killing at least 16 people, causing flash floods and leaving at least one million people without electricity.
While residents of Florida to Virginia were trying to understand the damage (flattened blocks, collapsed buildings, damaged infrastructure), resigned sadness was spreading throughout the disaster area.
2. What happened?
This is the central question of Disappearance of Saudi journalist and dissident Jamal Khashoggi this month. Mr Khashoggi, a Washington Post editorialist, has joined the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, but never seems to have left.
Mr. Khashoggi's fiancée and friends are afraid of being kidnapped or killed. Turkish investigators concluded at his death. The Saudi government says it left the consulate on Oct. 2 and is not in their custody.
The United States has been dragged into controversy, Turkish officials claiming that only President Trump can put pressure on the Saudis. The disappearance put an end to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's conference, which attracted the biggest investors, nicknamed "Davos in the Desert".
3. Jared Kushner seems to have Confidential documents show that even though his net worth has increased fivefold to $ 324 million.
Kushner's low taxes are the result of a joint maneuver aimed at reducing taxes to a minimum, generating year-to-year losses of several million dollars, according to the documents. But the losses were only on paper – Mr. Kushner and his company did not really seem to lose money.
Nothing suggests that he's breaking the law, a case that often ends up being a lucrative gift to property developers such as Mr. Kushner and his step-father, President Trump. The White House called for an in-depth review of federal tax laws, which extended many benefits to real estate investors, allowing them to benefit from even greater deductions.

4. Midway throughPresident Trump has publicly taken control of his messages this week, frequently speaking to reporters, organizing a series of rallies and entertaining Kanye West in the Oval Office in front of television cameras.
Prior to the election, Trump's support for white women was scrutinized, many of them now turning to Democrats, but white men continue to support the president and his party. The base could be a bulwark for Republicans, especially in suburban battlefield districts that could contribute to the decision of the next majority in the House.

6 US stocks saw their biggest drop in eight months last week, as rising interest rates are eating away at investors and tech stocks are falling as trade tensions with Beijing rise.
The Trump administration has exacerbated these tensions by announcing new investment restrictions aimed primarily at preventing China from accessing sensitive US technology.
President Trump reacted to falling prices by throwing stones at the US Federal Reserve, which he described as "crazy", "loco", "raging" and "out of control" for slowly raising interest rate Economy booming.
7. In Boston on Monday, a court will hear a case of positive action likely to resonate for decades.
It is not yet clear whether the case will be subject to a new law – possibly banning the consideration of race in admissions to colleges – or will only affect Harvard in a limited way. At best, it could end up in the Supreme Court, with lasting changes to the admission policies that could reshape the country's universities.

8. The limousine crash In upstate New York, this month has left grieving families, young orphans and politicians struggling to reconstruct the mistakes that have occurred.
The limousine had repeatedly failed inspections, including its brakes, and had been deemed insensitive to the road by state officials.

9. "Saturday Night Live" recreated weird meeting last week between President Trump and Kanye West, with Alec Baldwin, on the top right, back to his role as Mr. Trump. Chris Redd, over center, played Mr. West, stating, "I flew here using the power of this hat."

10. Forty years later, the movie "Halloween" is still in progress.
The classic horror inspired a passionate audience and a number of sequels and remakes. (The last reboot is coming out this week.)
Jamie Lee Curtis, William Shatner, John Carpenter and others sat down to remember their memories of the movie.
"It's the best experience of my life," said Curtis. "It gave me everything in my creative life."
