The directors of "Avengers 4" share an incomprehensible image

Whatever happens in the 2019 follow-up Avengers: Infinity Warhe is locked now. Filming is officially finished.

But as with most Marvel things, it's not that simple. The directors Anthony and Joe Russo have announced the completion of their work on Twitter with a hashtag and an image.

It's the image that makes people talk. What is it? What is it supposed to be teasing? Why are you like that, Marvel?

Twitter fans quickly grabbed the image and filtered it through countless filters, hoping to reduce the blinding blue light a bit to see what hid it. The results were … mixed?

Until here, it's the only legitimate theory I've encountered:

What do you think it is? Could it possibly be nothing? Just a red harness to keep busy fans busy for the long months to wait for release?

Avengers 4 – which does not even have an officially announced title – will be released in theaters on May 3, 2019.
