CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia. (CBS19 NEWS) – Actress Olivia Wilde campaigned for her mother, 5th District candidate, Leslie Cockburn, at the C Stand Up and Vote Town Rally in Charlottesville on Sunday.
Wilde's comedian and partner, Jason Sudeikis, was also there to support.
Wilde spoke of the qualities that she admires from her mother and that make Cockburn an ideal candidate for Congress.
"She will not only represent the people who voted for her, she will truly represent the people who do not because she is that kind of person," said Wilde. "She has integrity."
Sudeikis spoke to the young voters in the room.
"Young people are the future and children are the future," Sudeikis said. "Young people, you are here now."
The event also included musical performances and other speakers who called on everyone to campaign harder while they were going to election day in November.
