Last week we had our long-awaited first look at Ruby Rose as a Batwoman, and now we've got our first unofficial look at Tyler Hoechlin's Superman in this year's Crossover Crossover, "Elseworlds," courtesy of the hero who triggered everything.
Monday, Arrow star Stephen Amell shared a picture of himself behind the scenes with The flashGrant Gustin and Hoechlin, who wear an all black version of the Superman costume. (In comics, Superman wore a similar cap-less outfit when he was resurrected as a result of his deadly fight against Doomsday, but we doubt it's a Death of Superman scenario.)
Check it out:
The other interesting detail on the photo is that neither Gustin nor Amell seem to be wearing their usual superhero costumes. Instead of their usual red and green threads, they wear black pants and boots. Why? The reason remains uncertain. (It should also be noted that Amell no longer has Oliver's prison beard.)
Although everyone in Arrowverse is silent on what to expect from Elseworlds, who will see Flash (Gustin), Green Arrow (Amell) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) finally meet the Batwoman of Gotham City, Arrow The star of the show, Beth Schwartz, told how she compares to the Nazi-filled "Earth-X Crisis" and last year's multiverse jumps.
"This one does not feel as dark as last season," Schwartz told EW at the CW's launch party in the fall. "Of course, there were Nazis last season. I really think there is a lot more fun living in the crossover this year. "
Schwartz then explained how the old Arrow Showrunner Marc Guggenheim, the show's consultant this season, took the lead in the crossover. "I call her now – I coined that term – the showrunner of crossover episodes," she said. "He's been huge, huge in the crossovers, and he's really up for those episodes and they're going to be amazing."
In addition to boasting of his debut with Batwoman and the appearance of Superman in all three tracks, "Elseworlds" will feature GrimmElizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane; Designated SurvivorLaMonica Garrett as a monitor; Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries; and Jeremy Davies as Arkham Asylum's potentially crazy doc, which is why the Arrowverse Trinity comes to Gotham City in the first place.
"Elseworlds" starts on Sunday, December 9 with The flash at 20 hours.; will continue on Monday, December 10 at 8 pm with Arrow; and ends the next night at 8 pm with Super Girl.
