Wisconsin teenager missing may have been seen in Miami

MIAMI – Miami police said a missing 13-year-old Wisconsin girl, whose parents were found dead inside their home, may have been seen in Miami.

According to the police, Jayme Closs may have been seen at a gas station located along Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 11th Street. The person who spoke about it said that she was with two men in their thirties who were about 5 feet 7 feet by 5 feet 9 inches, weighing from 200 to 250 pounds and wearing a beard. The same witness told the police that the black Ford Explorer in which they were carrying a license plate label of I60 WER in Wisconsin.

The MPs went to Barron, Wisconsin's home after dispatchers received a 911 call from a stranger about one Monday morning, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said. He said they had found the bodies of Jayme's parents, who were later identified as James Closs, 56, and his wife, Denise Closs, 46. Fitzgerald also said that there had been shots, but he failed to say that it was the couple's death.

"By the end of the day, I want a child of 13, safe and sound," Fitzgerald said at a press conference. "It's our goal – it's our only goal at the moment."

The investigators have no track nor suspect, but they have sought the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the FBI, which has specialized agents in cases of missing children, has said the sheriff. He added that Jayme was not considered a suspect in the death of his parents.

The deputies searched the vicinity of the family home with the help of drones and infrared equipment, but they found no clue as to where she was. Fitzgerald said the investigators were frustrated at not having developed any leads and asked the public for any information on what could have happened to the girl.

Officers were also at Jayme Middle School to talk with friends and acquaintances, hoping to develop leads.

An Amber alert was issued Monday, although it contains no information about a suspect or a vehicle.

Jayme is 5 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds, has blonde-strawberry hair and green eyes.

Barron is about 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis.
