Amber Alert: Missing teenager Jayme Closs may have been seen in Miami, Florida; parents found dead in Barron, Wisconsin, at home

BARRON, Wis. (WLS) –

A 13-year-old girl missing from Wisconsin may have been seen in Miami, Florida, police said.

The Miami police said that a person matching Jayme Closs's description might have been seen at a gas station Monday afternoon. Police said the witness saw him with what they described as being two well – dressed Middle Eastern men of about thirty years and wearing a beard.

They were seen driving a black Ford Explorer carrying the I60WER registration plate in Wisconsin. Authorities have stopped calling this a confirmed observation.

The authorities began looking for Closs after his parents were found dead inside their home in Barron, Wisconsin, about 90 km northeast of Minneapolis.

MPs went home after receiving a 911 call around 1 am on Monday. The call came from home, but no one was online. The detectives do not know who called.

The sheriff said he found the bodies of Closs's parents, who were later identified by his department as James Closs, 56, and his wife, Denise Closs, 46.

They searched the surroundings of the family home, but found no evidence of where Jayme was. Authorities say that she is not suspected of the murder of her parents and believe that she is in danger.

Jayme is described as having 5 feet tall and 100 pounds with strawberry blonde hair and green eyes.

Investigators have sought help from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the FBI, which has specialized agents in cases of missing children, said Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald.

Barron 's neighbors, Joan and Tom Smrekar, said they heard something strange overnight.

"I heard one hit and the second was even stronger," Joan said.

"It actually looked like a wheezing car or something big enough," said Tom.

Police confirmed that there had been shots but she stopped before saying that it was the couple's death.

"By the end of the day, I want a 13-year-old child here, safe and sound, that's our goal – it's our only goal at the moment," Fitzgerald said at one point. Press.

The deputies searched the vicinity of the family home with the help of drones and infrared equipment, but they found no clue as to where she was. Fitzgerald said the investigators were frustrated at not having developed any leads and asked the public for any information on what could have happened to the girl.

Officers were also at Jayme Middle School talking with friends and acquaintances, hoping to develop leads, officials said.

An Amber alert was issued Monday for Jayme, although she does not include information about a suspect or a vehicle.
