It may seem old-fashioned, but people like Regina Pizzeria – or at least, TripAdvisor's commentators do it.
TripAdvisor announced Tuesday that North End Headquarters was taking the cake for America's Best Pizza, beating No. 2 Bleecker Street Pizza in New York City. According to TripAdvisor, rankings are based on the quality and quantity of TripAdvisor customer reviews. Critics of the past year have had the most weight.
According to the ranking, customers appreciate the fresh ingredients of Pizzeria Pizzeria Pizzeria, as well as its "thin crust and perfectly perfectly soft". The brick oven pizzeria also has a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, which always gives rise to good reviews.
Another New England restaurant features in the top 10: Modern Apizza in New Haven, Connecticut, is ranked 3rd, famous for its thin crust, tasty sauce and stacking on toppings.
Although Regina Pizzeria ranks among the best pizzerias in the country, Boston ranks seventh on the list of top American pizza cities. New York City and Chicago took first and second places respectively.
