A Texas man faces a charge of interfering with a flight crew and a misdemeanor charge after touching a woman on a Southwest Airlines flight, then shouted at the agents this week.

Justin Riley Brafford, 29, appeared in a New Mexico court on Wednesday and is still in federal custody, according to a criminal complaint reviewed by Dallas News.

The woman who is the subject of the indictment of assault stated that while she was sitting in a hallway, during a flight to Los Angeles -Dallas, Brafford, sitting in the center, put his arm on his leg as the plane was preparing to take off.

After ignoring him, Brafford approached the woman and started "playing with her" despite having asked her to stop kicking him, reported the Dallas News at the FBI.

The woman was then confronted with Brafford's personal questions, such as her name and place of residence. She refused an invitation to go out with him, to which Brafford responded [expletive] with me."

The woman asked to change seats, but Brafford then went to her new seat to confront her. When a flight attendant confronted Brafford about the incident, he became belligerent.

Brafford was not acting "like a normal person" and seemed to go "from zero to sixty in nanoseconds", according to the complaint, which led the flight attendant to believe that he could be taking drugs , according to Dallas News.

The flight attendant then informed the pilot of the situation and diverted it to Albuquerque. Brafford was stopped without further incident, but the flight attendants were ready with restraints and blankets.

Brafford then told the authorities that he thought the woman was flirting with him. He added that he had used methamphetamines the day before the robbery and that he had taken a heroin overdose on Saturday. He also told the FBI that God had spoken to him during the flight.
