Jayme Closs: FBI Expands Nationwide Research to Find Missing Wisconsin Girl

The FBI announced that it was expanding its searches in the country in search of a 13-year-old missing Wisconsin girl since her parents were found shot dead at home Monday morning.

According to the authorities, Jayme Closs was in the house when her parents – Denise, 46, and James Closs, 56 – were killed.

The girl, who was removed from the role of suspect the first day, was gone when the deputies arrived. Jayme's relatives told CBS News that the door to the house had been opened by gunshots.

When police responded to the call a few minutes after a 911 call to Barron's home, about 80 km northeast of Minneapolis, they found no suspicious vehicles, CBS Minnesota said.

The FBI said Thursday that, "out of caution", it was sending a digital poster on missing persons to local media partners across the country.

More than 100 local and national FBI agents have been working on the case, and officials said hundreds of tips had been received from the community and the country's population, the station reported.

About 100 volunteers joined the search for Jayme, authorities said Thursday after Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald asked people to join.

He said Wednesday that investigators thought that she was alive but in danger and he urged the public to continue calling tips.

The sheriff's office announced Thursday afternoon on Facebook that "nothing has been found."

She is described as a person 5 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds, with green eyes and blond hair.
