ALBUQUERQUE, MN (KRQE) – Trader Joe's recalled three different salads sold in nine states due to potential contamination with listeria or salmonella. Two of these salads are sold in New Mexico.
The California-based grocer said the recall had an impact on Trader Jose's Mexicali-inspired salad, Trader Joe's BBQ-flavored chicken salad and Trader Joe's Field fresh-chopped salad with grilled chicken breast.
The salads in question have an expiry date of 15 to 20 October.
Trader Joe's told a vendor that corn used in salads "could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes and / or Salmonella bacteria."
Customers are asked to dispose of the product or return it to a Joe dealer for a full refund.
According to their website, no contamination has been confirmed and no disease has been reported.
The recall concerns the following states:
- Salad inspired by Mexicali from Jose Merchant – Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Washington State
- Trader Joe's Barbecue Flavored Chicken Salad – Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas
- Chopped fresh salad and grilled chicken breast Trader Joe's Field – Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas
