The Hy-Vee grocery chain is voluntarily recalling six of its meat and potato products because of possible contamination with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes, the company said yesterday. The recall involves products in the eight states where the company operates: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
According to the recall notice issued by the FDA, the potential contamination would have been discovered after McCain Foods, a supplier to Hy-Vee Corporation, based in West Des Moines, announced that she remembered mushrooms caramelized and roasted tomatoes, which are among the six Hy-Vee products involved.
No disease has been reported yet.
