This is no secret to anyone Guardians of the Galaxy The series has become one of the most popular film franchises in the world today. The original movie and its sequel brought in around $ 800 million at the global box office, and the characters also appeared in the $ 2 billion hit movie Avengers: Infinity War.
One of the best parts about Guardians of the Galaxy is their set of characters. Characters like Star-Lord and Groot have become beloved superheroes, although they are generally unknown to superhero fans just five years ago. These beloved characters have come to where they are now no doubt due to their fantastic limbs. Bradley Cooper brought Rocket Raccoon to life by giving him a great voice. It's hard to imagine that someone plays Drax other than Dave Bautista.
Although the casting is fantastic, many fans thought that the casting decisions of this intergalactic group could have been better. A number of Marvel fans have created their own casts for Guardians of the Galaxy it really made us scratch our head, wondering how it would have been if these actors and actresses had been chosen for the film.
Although all of these ideas are hypothetical at this point, as the films have already been shot clearly and that it's unlikely that any of the characters will have to be redone anytime in the near future, they're still fun to consider.
With this in mind, here are the 20 Guardians of the Galaxy Fan Castings better than we had.

20 Jensen Ackles as Star-Lord
It is undeniable that Chris Pratt propelled the Star-Lord intergalactic hero to a higher level, but a large number of fans wanted the film to be featured. Supernatural the actor Jensen Ackles instead. Unlike Pratt, Ackles was no stranger to the role of hero of action at the time Guardians of the Galaxy released in 2014.
Although Pratt's lack of hero training could have helped the film as a whole, Ackles' experience could have helped her character become even more credible.
Although he may not have the acting talent required for the role, no one can deny that Jensen Ackles would have brought the film Supernatural fanbase on Marvel, which would have undoubtedly boosted sales.
19 Danny DeVito as Rocket Raccoon
Danny DeVito is traditionally entrusted with short character roles, with a bad attitude and a growing voice. From Lorax to Phil de Hercules, and Frank Reynolds to the penguin, DeVito has long played such an archetype. It's no wonder that a number of Marvel fans immediately imagined him to be the voice of Rocket Raccoon.
Unlike most other actors on this list, this one has almost become a reality. Back when Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the actors who auditioned for the role of Rocket, which means that he was actually considered for the role. Although Bradley Cooper has certainly done a good job with the role, it still leaves us wondering how much this character would have been different if Danny DeVito had been chosen instead.
18 Gal Gadot as Nebula
Although this becomes more of an after-the-fact distribution, with many Marvel fans having this idea after Karen Gillan in the role of Nebula, it's still a brilliant cast that might have been able to make Gamora's sister a little more interesting.
In recent years, superhero fans have fallen in love with Gal Gadot, who has bluffed us with his performance as a Wonder Woman, becoming one of the rare strengths of the DCEU.
While Nebula is certainly an interesting character in Guardians of the Galaxy, it is quite possible that, if Gal Gadot had been given the role instead, Gadot would have abandoned him, turning Nebula into one of the most intriguing characters in the franchise.
17 Tom Hardy as Charlie-27
After the release of the first Guardians of the Galaxy, many Marvel fans were hoping that more members of the original team, such as Star Hawk and Charlie-27, would eventually make their way into the MCU. This finally took place, with many former Guardians of comics appearing as Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Before Impossible mission It was revealed that the actor Ving Rhames was secretly playing the classic and mighty Guardian Charlie-27. Some Marvel fans have also played Tom Hardy in the role, which is probably better suited to the character. Unfortunately, Charlie-27 only made a small appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and there is no guarantee that we will see him again soon, so it may be for the best that Tom Hardy's talents have not been wasted in such a small role. It may be best to stick with Eddie Brock instead.
16 Christopher Meloni as Ronan the accuser
One of the biggest complaints about the first Guardians of the Galaxy was that, like many other Marvel movies at the time, he had a weak villain. Ronan the accuser, despite a strong voice and a clear motivation, was ultimately disappointing. He added conflict, but not any kind of conflict that really worried the public, as Thanos did in the past. Avengers: War of Infinity. Theoretically, a different casting choice might have been enough to buy the accuser Ronan and make him a really intimidating opponent.
Although Lee Pace is an excellent actor, it is quite possible that actor Christopher Meloni could have done a much better job in the role.
Meloni has had a number of antagonistic roles in the past, playing legitimate evil rather than chaotic evil, which could have really improved Ronan as a character.
15 Gina Carano as Gamora
Having started her career as an MMA fighter, Gina Carano is no stranger to the demonstration of her daunting strength on the screen. In franchises like dead Pool and Fast & FuriousCarano has given the reputation of playing powerful and independent women. In comics, Gamora was commonly called the "most ferocious woman in the galaxy". While Zoe Saldana did a decent job, at the height of this title, it is quite possible that Gina Carano really proved that Gamora was as ferocious as her title suggests.
It would have been very interesting to have seen Carano in the green makeup Gamora. Although she may not have had the character chemistry brought by Saldana, she would still have made Gamora a great ally for the rest of the Guardians.
14 Nathan Fillion as Rhomann Dey
Nathan Fillion is a close friend of James Gunn, both of whom have worked together many times. Fillion made a brief appearance in the first Guardians of the Galaxy, and his cameo was cut in the sequel, but many people think that Fillion's talents would have been better suited to a different role in the franchise. Many Marvel fans wanted to see the Castle star in a larger role in the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
As soon as it was revealed that he would be in the movie, many Marvel fans immediately asked him to play one of the Nova Corps members, possibly Dey police officer, who was finally performed by John C. Reilly.
Maybe if Marvel made a film about Nova, Fillion could play a bigger role, perhaps as a senior member of the Nova Corps. alongside Reilly.
13 Vin Diesel as Drax
Vin Diesel gave a fantastic performance as Groot at a time Guardians of the Galaxy movies and Avengers: Infinity Warbut a number of fans seem to think that Groot's small voice was a waste of this actor's talents.
A lot Guardians of the Galaxy Fans would have actually preferred to have Diesel play the role of Drax rather than Groot, since he could have used his physical actor abilities in addition to his vocal abilities. Although Dave Bautista certainly made Drax the Destroyer unique on the screen, there is no doubt that Vin Diesel's great experience in the acting game could have brought this hero even further and even possibly to even be more than a stuffing character.
12 James Earl Jones as Groot
In terms of actors known to play low voice roles, James Earl Jones is certainly at the top of the line. Many of his vocal roles, such as Darth Vader and Mufasa, have become iconic simply because of Jones' phenomenal performance.
Jones would have easily destroyed Groot's role and probably made it even more intimidating as a character.
Jones could also have given him the same comforting qualities that Jones gave to Mufasa The Lion King. Not only would Groot's role have been a fantastic choice for James Earl Jones, but it would also have left Vin Diesel available to assume larger roles in the Marvel film universe, such as Drax or Blackbolt.
11 Laz Alonso as Yondu Udonta
Michael Rooker may have given a great performance as Yondu Udonta at once Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but it's no secret that Rooker was hired because of his close friendship with director James Gunn. If Rooker had not been in the picture, Laz Alonso would have been the perfect fit to portray the classic Guardian of the Galaxy. In movies like Fast furious and AvatarAlonso gave fantastic performances, both intimidating and down-to-earth.
Alonso is not only a fantastic actor, but he also had the chance to play a blue alien with a mohawk Avatar. His experience in the space opera genre would certainly have helped him if he had joined the rest of the world. Guardians of the Galaxy.
ten Viggo Mortensen as Adam Warlock
One of the most screened Guardians of the Galaxy characters is Adam Warlock. This popular space superhero is a hero that Marvel fans want to see in the MCU for years. Many hope that it will appear in the guardians franchise so that it can play a role in Avengers: Infinity War as he did in comics. Warlock appeared technically at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2but was only in a cocoon. Apparently, Warlock was even in the early drafts of the guardians subsequently, but was eventually cut.
Has Warlock appeared in Vol. 2, many Marvel fans hoped that it would be performed by the actor Lord of the Rings, Viggo Mortensen.
Mortensen presented phenomenal performances as powerful characters, letting many people believe that he would have been the ideal candidate for Adam Warlock, had he appeared as more than a cocoon in the film .
9 Michael Fassbender as Star-Lord
Michael Fassbender may be well known for playing the classic villain Marvel Magneto in the X Men franchise, but many Marvel fans wanted him to also perform another character from Marvel. As soon as Guardians of the Galaxy has been announced, many fans initially wanted the legendary outlaw and leader of the team, Star-Lord, to be interpreted by Michael Fassbender.
Although Fassbender is not known for his comic play, he completely destroyed the role of Magneto in the three X Men He has appeared in movies until now, proving that he is particularly good at playing characters in comic books. Casting Fassbender in Guardians of the Galaxy undoubtedly would have added another layer of emotion to the cinema.
8 Lucy Liu as Mantis
Lucy Liu is up to what they get. His performances in movies like pulp Fiction and the angels of Charlie have turned it into a huge star of the movie industry and it would have been great to have seen it enter the Marvel film universe at one point.
Mantis would suit Liu perfectly to play, not only because they look alike, but also because in comics, Mantis was an incredibly acrobatic and active hero, rather than the passive and shy hero we had in the movie.
Although Pom Klementieff did a decent job as Mantis, the character was unforgettable at the end of the film. Lucy Liu would probably have corrected that, and could have been one of the highlights of the film.
7 Jeremy Irons as Thanos
It is very difficult now to imagine that someone else is playing the role of Mad Titan in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War other than Josh Brolin, before Thanos was chosen, many Marvel fans wanted Thanos to be played by Jeremy Irons.
One of the most important features that an actor should bring to the Thanos table would be his voice, since it is essentially composed of CGI. With that in mind, Jeremy Irons would have made an impeccable Thanos, because his voice is a perfect blend of intimidation and realism, as evidenced by movies like The Lion King. The irons could also have brought out the "boom" in his voice to match the physical size of Thanos, just like Josh Brolin. Josh Brolin did a great job in the role, but it's really disappointing that Marvel did not choose Irons instead.
6 Lynn Collins as Gamora
Lynn Collins is no stranger to science fiction and action movies, so it is no wonder that a number of fans originally wanted her to play the role of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, before it's finally given to Zoe Saldana. Although Lynn Collins is certainly an excellent actress, she has had a bit of bad luck with the films in which she went. Its two biggest blockbusters have been X-Men Origins: Wolverine and John Carter, both of which were critical flops.
The Guardians of the Galaxy would have been the perfect film for Lynn Collins to really shine.
Presumably, his addition would also have helped to shine the film as a whole.
5 Peter Cullen as ego
Ego the Living Planet was a character that Marvel fans wanted to see introduced into the MCU for some time. It is therefore logical that he received a number of castings before his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Peter Cullen is one of the most intriguing actors of Ego. He is probably best known for making the voice of Optimus Prime heard Transformers franchise. Cullen is a very experienced actor and certainly could have played on a real planet in a credible and entertaining way.
When this cast was premiered for the first time, it was probably based on the idea that it would play the planet itself, rather than an avatar created by the planet. Whatever it may be, it would have been interesting to see what Cullen could have done with this unique role.
4 Jack Black as a raccoon
It is common knowledge that Jack Black is a master of comedy, which would theoretically be the ideal candidate to express a raccoon speaking in a comic space opera. He has the perfect growth voice to credibly pull a raccoon, and would really add more hilarity to the movie.
Although Black may not have been able to emit the same emotion that Bradley Cooper gave to Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy, he would have brought other elements to the role.
Even though many Marvel fans have not wanted to see Black Rock Raccoon make the voice of Jack Black, it would still be nice to see Black enter the MCU at some point, especially now that he's really back to playing in more than just cameos.
3 Michael Dorn as Groot
When Guardians of the Galaxy was announced for the first time at Marvel Studios, a number of Marvel fans initially thought that some of the less humanoid characters like Groot would be created with prostheses rather than computer-generated images. If Groot had been made practically, many fans of Marvel imagined it. Star Trek: the new generation Actor Michael Dorn, who had to wear make-up and makeup every day, was on the set of this series to play Worf.
Dorn did a fantastic job of making Worf a credible character in Star Trek, and many fans have assumed that he would do the same thing as Groot. He was also fantastic in the DC series Arrow, where he expressed the wicked Prometheus.
2 John Krasinski as Nova
Nova is a character that Marvel fans have wanted to see on the screen for years: Nova, and many of them hoped that this cosmic superhero would make his film debut. Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
John Krasinski, of The Office and A Quiet Place, is one of the most prominent cast actors in Nova. It has both the look and personality of Richard Rider / Nova's character in the Marvel cinematic universe.
Even though he did not appear like Richard Rider himself Guardians of the GalaxyIt would have been great to have seen Krasinsky appear at least as a member of the Nova Corps. in the film, we hope to be able to arrange another appearance later.
1 Jason Momoa as Drax
Although many people have had doubts at the beginning, Jason Momoa has proved to be fantastic as an Aquan in the CUSD in recent years. This left Marvel fans wondering what it would have been if Momoa had been chosen for the role of Drax.
Believe it or not, this cast was almost more than a fan, since Momoa was actually the original actor that Marvel wanted for the role – and there was even a graphic concept of what he would have looks like. However, after a few months of negotiations, Momoa rejected the role of Guardians of the Galaxy, as he did not want to continue playing characters without a shirt with little dialogue. Looking back, it's a pity that Marvel did not fight to keep Momoa on board. Presumably, he also could have brought much more emotion to the role than Dave Bautista.
