Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard will be ruled out of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to The Athletic & # 39; s Jay Morrison.

Bernard has been sidelined since he had a sprain at the MCL at the end of Week 4 of the Cincinnati competition against the Atlanta Falcons on September 30th. According to his report, the initial schedule for his return was two to four weeks. Tom Pelissero.

In her first four games, the 26-year-old had 155 yards and three touchdowns and 14 assists for 78 yards. He broke up when Joe Mixon was injured, accumulating 130 yards on the ground in weeks 3 and 4.

However, Bernard missed Cincinnati's 27-17 win over the Miami Dolphins in the fifth week. Pelissero reporting that he was recovering from an MCL sprain. A return Mixon ran for 93 yards and had three receptions for 22 yards and one touchdown.

As long as Mixon is in good health, the Bengals have a chance to get out of it in Bernard's absence. However, there is not much depth proven behind Mixon. 2018's fourth-round pick, Mark Walton, continues to make his way into the offensive and has only seven yards in seven races this season.

Cincinnati missed his Mixon and Bernard double win in a 28-21 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. After a road match against the 5-1 leaders on hold, Mixon will again be asked to take the charge out of the backcourt and help the offense move the ball consistently.
