SNELLVILLE, Ga. A Georgia police officer was killed after being shot while he was answering a suspicious vehicle parked near a college. Security forces look for suspects following Saturday afternoon shootings near Snellville, WSB-TV reports.
Police said police officer Antwan Toney, of Gwinnett County, was rushed to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he had died. The 30-year-old was a veteran of the department for two years.
The shooting took place Saturday around 15 hours. near Shiloh College. Authorities said the suspects crushed the vehicle soon after and that witnesses saw up to four people on the run. It is unclear if any of the suspects was injured.
Snellville is about 25 miles northeast of Atlanta.
