The video – posted Friday on Instagram – shows a girl held by two officers, a man and a woman. The policeman strikes the girl on the side twice while wearing his shorts.

Police said the incident occurred on Thursday when police were called to the Coral Square mall for unruly teenagers who had harassed people and caused unrest. When the police spoke with the mall security department, a mother informed police officers that one of the teens had pushed her 5-year-old child to the ground. The mall's security center also told police that one of the teens had hit another teenager. Officers issued an intrusion warning to unruly teenagers and prevented them from entering the mall.
The teenagers then returned to the mall, police said, where a boy was arrested without incident, but the girl in the video began to curse and tried to assault the other teenagers. The police tried to put the girl in custody, but the police said she had started to fight and resist her arrest. The police said at that time that they had taken the girl to the ground because of "her stature and aggressive behavior" and tried to convince her to drop her fists.
"As we see in the video, she resisted her arrest and, in order to make her obey, she was hit on the side to release her clenched fists – she was then handcuffed," said the department. Coral Springs police in his Facebook statement.
While police officers were trying to put her in the patrol vehicle, police said she had "violently kicked" one of the police officers.

Dennis told WSVN that she had hired lawyer Meeghan Moldof, who had stated that the officer had used excessive force during his arrest.
"It's clear from the video that my client was on the ground," Moldof told WSVN. "His hands are under his belly, the officer's knees are on his back, and he's just shooting him, like one after the other."
