(SNELLVILLE, GA) – Two teenage suspects, including one still wanted by the police, have been charged with the murder of a George policeman killed while he was answering a suspicious vehicle parked near a police station. college, the authorities said Sunday.

Authorities said they thought Tafahree Maynard, 18, had killed police officer Antwan Toney on Saturday afternoon in the Snellville area, Gwinnett County police said in a statement. Maynard remained free on Sunday morning and should be considered armed and dangerous, the police said.

A second suspect, 19-year-old Isaiah Pretlow, was charged with aggravated assault in another incident following Toney's fatal shooting, police said.

The two suspects are from Snellville.

Toney died in the hospital as a result of his injuries, police said. The 30-year-old from southern California, he had been with the Gwinnett County Police Department for almost three years. It was his first job as a policeman.

"The people who worked with Agent Toney every day recalled a very jovial man, dedicated to his job and his community," said Gwinnett County Police Chief Butch Ayers.
