CLEVELAND, Ohio – Thousands of FirstEnergy customers in northeastern Ohio are still without electricity on Sunday morning after the violent storms that swept through the area Saturday night.
At 10:25 am Sunday, about 6,700 customers were not powered in Cuyahoga County, according to the FirstEnergy's website. In Lake County, about 3,400 customers did not have electricity and in Lorain County, about 1,800.
The city of Cleveland had the most trouble in Cuyahoga County; More than 2,300 customers were still experiencing power outages on Sunday morning. More than 800 customers were without electricity in Bay Village and North Olmsted as well.
The majority of outages in Lake County took place in Mentor, with more than 2,000 customers without electricity. The nearby town of Mentor-on-the-Lake recorded about 350 blackouts Sunday and Eastlake, about 250.
In Lorain County, the cities of Lorain and Avon Lake were hit hardest on Sunday; at Lorain, the total was about 950 and Lake Avon, about 500.
