During his first engagement of the day, Harry met the traditional owners of the island, known as the Butchulla people and prime minister of Queensland. He then took part in a traditional welcome ceremony in the country and unveiled a plaque commemorating the dedication of K'gari Forests to Queen's Commonwealth Canopy (a unique network of forest conservation initiatives, covering 53 Commonwealth countries ).
Harry will then visit one of the iconic lakes on Fraser Island to meet elders and park wardens and learn about the island's natural beauty, rich history, biodiversity and cultural significance.
