Prime Minister Imran leaves for Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan left on Monday for a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference and discuss economic cooperation in the face of Pakistan's financial crisis.

The Prime Minister, who is visiting the Kingdom at the special invitation of King Salman Ben Abdel Aziz, will attend the conference.

"The conference, called" Davos in the desert ", will host on a single platform business people, investors, giants of the high-tech sector and leading media", announced the Foreign Office in a communicated.

Premier Imran's participation in the first day of the conference aims to project Pakistan's economic and investment potential, as well as its vision for the next five years.

"The conference offers an opportunity to exchange with important business leaders interested in investing in Pakistan," the press release said.

The Prime Minister will also address King Salman and meet with Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to discuss issues of common interest.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Finance Minister Asad Umar will accompany the Prime Minister during his visit.

"The participation of Prime Minister Imran in the conference demonstrates our solidarity with the Kingdom in its efforts to become an emerging hub of international trade and investment," the press release added.

According to media reports, the prime minister has decided to visit Saudi Arabia before his planned visit to China. He has to leave for a three-day visit to China on November 3rd.

Prime Minister Khan visited Saudi Arabia on his first official visit on September 18, after Pakistan asked for help from the kingdom to solve its financial problems.
