Colbert states on stage: "I sincerely believe that she is the funniest person on TV, and I say that as someone who is on TV right now."
Colbert also raised the center's decision to cancel the 2009 Mark Twain Award from Bill Cosby, who was convicted of sexual assault earlier this year. A Pennsylvania judge sentenced Cosby to three to ten years in prison. He is looking for a new trial.
Colbert posted a sign saying "167 days since the last Un-Twaining."
Fingers crossed, he said to Louis-Dreyfus: "I think everything will be fine."
