The main spoilers below for those who have not yet watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead, "Warning Signs".
For a long time now, The dead who walk teased viewers with a helicopter rarely seen flying over communities. During Season 8, we learned that Anne-as-Jadis was the great connection and the last episode offered concrete answers. No wonder it is not a complete explanation or extremely dark implications.
Who is in the helicopter, and what is their problem?
The helicopter pilot, still unknown, is apparently part of a larger group that can possibly trade people for supplies. What they do with these new recruits, however, is a sordid conquest for the moment. Anne would have answers, but only as long ago as it is so that they know her. Yes, she totally trafficked the members of her Junkyard tribe to maintain their bohemian lifestyle. People for painting!
Anne is one of the group's pipers who brings together other people for the cause. She is responsible for two different types of people, called As and Bs. Judging by how things unfold, I imagine an A is someone who is involuntarily sent to the mystery group to face their fate. Which would probably make a B someone who wishes to voluntarily go live wherever the group is.
If Anne's confessions are legitimate, her relationship with this group of mysteries did not begin with such malicious intent. Although I am not sure of the kind of slightly less shitty tasks that would have allowed him to have access to the necessary goods in the case. It is also possible that the needs of the pilot do not reflect those of everyone, no matter where he lives.
Where does the helicopter come from?
In her descriptions, Anne did not use proper names to tell Gabriel where the helicopter takes people. She has however used very telling descriptions, and I suspect that the origin of the helicopter could be tied to the mystery guest of Season 8, Georgie.
On the one hand, we know that this group clearly has an abundant range of supplies. If they can afford to keep other factions of survivors with the element of human trafficking. (I guess we do not know exactly how many times this happens, but still.) Anne also mentions how she and Gabriel could live together a life beyond imagination when he joined her. I think his apartment break, clean and comfortable, is the proof. Finally, we know that this mysterious settlement is far from the communities of Virginia.
A place The dead who walk remains to be unveiled is Georgia's training ground and his stylishly dressed bodyguards. You know, those who were so advanced beyond the search for food that their only goal was to negotiate music albums. If we become theoretical, it is also likely that this new area will be the real-time iteration of the comic strip known as "Commonwealth". If this is the case, it may take some time before we can actually visit.
What will happen to Father Gabriel?
Although Anne found peace among the people of Alexandria, she immediately sought to escape when others suspected of being in charge of the church. Savior murder. Unbeknownst to him, Anne was followed by his romantic secret, Gabriel. He only picked up a little of his brief conversation, but he had enough to decode his plan.
Gabriel finally failed, saying openly to Anne that he would do something she said she could not do: talk to someone else about the helicopter. He said that he would tell Rick, but depending on how long it will take someone to pick him up, he will probably not talk to anyone other than Anne or the pilot in the near future. He is totally an A now.
It is true that Father Gabriel is no longer in the pages of The dead who walk comics, it certainly was not his way out, since Anne is unique in the TV show. As such, it is unclear whether or not it will be how the star of the show, Angela Kang, will decide to eliminate it. Whatever it is, I want to see more scary performances of Pollyanna McIntosh.
To learn more about solving the mystery of the helicopter, without Gabriel's father meeting his builder, listen The dead who walk every Sunday evening on AMC at 21:00 ET. For other mysterious and confusing intrigues, our autumn program previewed on television should satisfy all tastes.
