The comic genius of youngster Honey Boo Boo has been widely celebrated since she entered the public eye with her mother Mama June, but viewers have seen a different side to the child on Dancing with the Stars Juniors.

Gradually improving her technique and performance, Honey Boo Boo came full circle when she performed a beautiful routine of Something There from hit Disney musical Beauty and the Beast on Saturday.

In the prerecorded VT, Alana could be seen struggling to get into character for the “royal” role.

Forced to undertake some etiquette training and warnings from her mentor Artem Chigvintsev, Alana almost gave up as she declared: “I might not be an elegant princess, but I’m gonna nail this Foxtrot.”

Despite the teething problems, Alana created a magical sight for the studio audience in the live show, decked head-to-toe in Belle’s beautiful wintry outfit.

The contestant even wore the princess’s iconic fur stole as she and professional dancer Tristan Ianiero swept across the dance floor.

As the routine came to an end, Alana’s mum Mama June could be seen fighting back tears as the proud parent cheered for her 13-year-old daughter.

Judge Val Chmerkovskiy kicked off the praise as he said: “I don’t think there’s anybody watching that, that’s not smiling.

“Watching you perform is really moving to me, not because it’s perfect but because it’s from the heart and it’s about touching and inspiring.”

“You do that, and it’s incredible,” the judge shared.

Mandy Moore echoed the sentiment, continuing: “You were so cool, calm and collected tonight, you looked so beautiful.”

“You had your friend, I really loved it and you are getting better at this every week, I mean I was asking you to do more and you are doing it. Excellent job,” she finished with a flourish.

“Like I said last week,” Adam Rippon then noted, “what is so special is your performance. You tell a story and you move us!”

“I’m very impressed,” the final judge added.

Following on from their praise, all three judges gave Alana a respectable seven points each, giving her 21 in total.

Also on the series, reality TV star Kim Kardashian surprised her goddaughter and contestant Sophia Pippens for some last minute words of advice.

The daughter of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, 53, and wife Larsa, 44, received the lowest combined score and was sadly sent home from the competition.

But ahead of that, Kim had tried her best to encourage her goddaughter as she said: “I came here today to encourage Sophia.

“I have known her since she was a baby,” before telling the child directly: “You have to be confident, just let it go.”

“I feel a lot more confident knowing that Kim has my back,” Sophie said later, but it wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition unfortunately.

Dancing with the Stars Juniors continues this weekend on ABC in the US.
