A South Carolina wife whose triumphant history became viral after refusing to postpone the date of her marriage despite stage 4 cancer died seven months after she tied the knot. Laurin Bank, 30, married Michael Bank in March and has spent the next several months traveling, reported People.com.
She had been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in September 2014 and had undergone a double mastectomy as well as chemotherapy and radiation therapy before being declared without cancer in April 2015. The cancer returned in August 2017, the doctors determined that he had metastasized in his liver the bones and lungs, reported People.com.
Laurin told PEOPLE that changing the wedding date would mean letting the cancer go. So they decided to go ahead with their plans of March 24th.

The doctors recommended the couple to go back to the wedding planned for March 24, but they continued their own projects.

"This date was special for us," Laurin told People shortly after the wedding. "We felt that moving that date was giving way, that we were giving in to cancer and that we were letting it lead our lives. We did not want to give in. It was our goal … and I was able to go down the driveway to my husband. I was able to dance with him and I did not need a wheelchair or oxygen. I did it I did it. "
But on October 11, Laurin visited his Facebook page "Polka.dot.queen" to tell his followers that his cancer "was spreading like wildfire" and that there was no longer any treatment option.
Michael told his wife's supporters that she had passed away on Sunday.

On Monday, Michael Banks announced to his wife's supporters that she had died.
"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beautiful queen," he wrote. "Yesterday morning, she felt very bad week and still seemed to be fine. After bringing her back to her aunt, we could not put her at ease.
